French Contemporary Impressionist
Anne Sandry's art is primarily seeking a certain lyricism, as in music and poetry. It is constantly preoccupied with a dignified harmony while expressing a true joie de vivre. To obtain this subtle balance, she always looks for a union between movement and order, grace and force, light and form and the result must always tend to show elegance of tone and emotive reserve.
Years of practice among artists in all media, passionate from youth while passing through acting and publishing, she painted thousands of oils capturing the french scenery; they hang throughout Europe and the US.
Now, away from her native France (which she however visits regularly) and established in Albuquerque, New Mexico, her obsession and inspiration for the french landscape never ceases to sing in her ears.
At this point, "She is France". The hundreds of towers and spires pointing towards the sky in the french land, or the simple beauty of turrets emerging from the countryside speak an intimate language that she hopes the viewer can share with her, and when that happens, then she knows the conversation is complete. For her, it is a profound artistic communion.
Although he came prior to the impressionists, one of her favorite painters is Corot.
